These stunning rustic wooden log slice cake stands are available in 3 sizes and are a wonderful way of displaying your celebration cake. The wording is burned into the wood by hand around the bottom of the log, leaving room for your special cake. A heart will be added between the names and date unless otherwise requested.

The wording of your choice will be engraved into the wood and these personalised cake stands are the ideal finishing touch for a special wedding, birthday, anniversary, baby shower, christening, cake smash, retirement or party. Once the occasion is over, they make a perfect keepsake and can be displayed as a table centrepiece, topped with candles, flowers, houseplants or the decor of your choice.

Material Detail

Please be aware that the logs are natural products and may contain cracks, splits, knots, colour variations and grain patterns. The logs are kiln dried during the manufacturing process to remove all of the moisture from the log and to help stabilise the wood. Cracks and splits may naturally occur during the drying process, many of which are filled and repaired before the logs are shipped to the UK, therefore your log may include filled areas and cracks. We will always ensure that these areas do not interfere with the engraved wording, and we will position any larger cracks towards the back of the cake stand, opposite the writing, meaning that once the cake is in place, any imperfections on the surface of the log will be mostly covered. Please be assured that we would not send out any item that does not pass our quality inspection and any imperfections will not interfere with the usability of the log as a cake stand.

During the drying process, the bark edge becomes looser and so is pinned into place around the edge with little metal pins to secure the bark to the centre. If part of the bark does become loose during transit or handling, simply push the bark back into place on the pins. Whilst the bark is secured along the edge, care should be taken not to pick up the log by the bark edge as this will risk it becoming looser.

The log slices are untreated. If you wish to treat the wood please be aware that any oil or varnish will darken the wood and enhance the grain patterns. Please check that you are happy with the resulting colour on the underside of the log before treating the main surface. If you do decide to treat the wood, we would recommend treating both sides of the log to prevent the wood from warping. Butcher's block oil, teak oil, olive oil or linseed oil would all be suitable to treat your log cake stand.

The logs should be stored in a dry environment - a normal home environment is absolutely fine. Please be aware that changes in humidity in the air can cause further movement of the wood over time, naturally increasing and decreasing any cracks or gaps in the wood as the seasons change.

We are unable to guarantee a perfect surface on your log slice and do not offer refunds or replacements due to imperfections that do not interfere with the engraving.

L Diameter 26-30cm Thickness 3.5cm approx - Suitable for a 6" and 8" cake
XL Diameter 33-37cm Thickness 3.5cm approx - Suitable for a 6", 8" and 10" cake
XXL Diameter 40-45cm Thickness 3.5cm approx - Suitable for an 8", 10" and 12" cake
